Established in 1993, Beekman Bar and Books was the second of the growing Bar and Books family and also spearheaded the mid. 90´s cigar trend prior to approximately 50 cigar bars opening in New York City by 1996. Beekman Bar and Books hosted the first all womens cigar smoker in New York City history.

Beekman Bar and Books is located around the corner from New York City´s smallest, yet wealthiest neighbourhoods, Beekman place, also a stones throw from the United Nations and worlds tallest residential building the Trump World. Its location on 1st Avenue and 50th Street makes it more desirable since it is far enough from the hustle and bustle of Second and Third avenues.
In 2008 Bar and Books had just completed opening its second location in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, which is a member the European Union, with very positive results. The owner decided to use a Czech designer and managing partner Ms. Martina Pestova to help coordinate the redesign of Beekman Bar and Books, the results of which can be may be viewed on our webs picture portfolio.
